Since our inception in 1962, we have been committed to manufacturing mattresses, beds, sofas and much more for all needs with the utmost care.
The precision of the details in our products is due to the use of specialized and cutting-edge machinery, constantly in step with research in this field in order to be able to guarantee ever greater comfort and well-being.
OUR TECHNOLOGY:
Portoflex's traditional strong point is its technological equipment: in a covered area of over 10,000 square metres, state-of-the-art computerized equipment at a national level is used.
We remember the very fast mattress edging machines, the fully automatic machine for producing the springs of orthopedic models according to the Swiss LFK patent, the carding machine connected to an electronic quilting machine capable of creating infinite types of lozenges.
Of particular importance is the cold foaming process of the perimeter bands of the mattresses, which guarantees the product greater resistance and durability of the sides and at the same time dimensional stability.
The bed base and sommier sector is also equipped with the most up-to-date technologies: a programmable tube bending machine, a robotised welding department, an electronic tube cutter and finally an epoxy powder painting system with a complete cycle of degreasing, washing, drying and subsequent polymerisation at 200 °C approx.
Thirty years of experience in the supply of products for hotels and communities and a constant and renewed technical collaboration with the Montefibre company: thanks to these requirements Portoflex can once again bring itself to the attention of operators, with a renewed and complete range. Extreme functional versatility, careful responses to the multiple needs of customers, attention to detail, the common characteristic of having passed the Class 1 IM reaction to fire tests: these are the strong points of the new products that today place Portoflex among the leaders in the sector .
OUR PRODUCTION:
Portoflex technology today guarantees high production rates, quality control and flexibility. This means not only a high production of spring mattresses, polyurethane foam, latex, of any type and size - but also a vast range of orthopedic bed bases, with wooden slats, beech polylayer and many other accessory solutions for the rest.
A complete and detailed range, which stands out for some important advantages:
- exceptional level of comfort of the mattresses equipped with the exclusive LFK springing system, with a high number of springs, more than double that of a normal spring;
- possibility of customizing the sommier and quilt coverings with fabric supplied by the customer;
- use of innovative materials for health and well-being, thanks to constant collaboration with leading companies in technological research (Montefibre, Latexco, etc.).
It is precisely this philosophy that has allowed the gradual consolidation of Portoflex in very demanding sectors such as communities and the hotel sector, with an offer that today includes the following product families: sommiers, mattresses, accessories and quilts, bed bases and bases .
Of particular note are some new ergonomic and functional products: the lift mechanism, the bed base and the folding armchair.
Fidion FR and Terital Saniwear:
When safety is at stake, Montefibre always has the right answer. And if it comes to flame retardant safety, the answer is truly exceptional: Fidion FR, synonymous with made in Italy in the field of flame retardant polyester fibre. Fidion FR is a truly intrinsically fireproof fibre, designed for all transformation technologies, capable of responding to any creative need and the regulations in force in the various countries. Fidion FR is guaranteed by Montefibre, which has always been the technological partner of innovative and safe textiles.
This technology comes from the Montefibre research laboratories, the new Terital Saniwear fibre, obtained by incorporating an active agent of an inorganic nature into a standard polyester fibre, without altering its physical-mechanical characteristics. The result is an action that actively counteracts the development of non-pathogenic bacteria, which are among the main causes of bad odors. Terital saniwear does not involve the risks potentially deriving from the use of organic substances and maintains its effectiveness over time, even with frequent washing. Compliant with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, this antibacterial fiber has already found widespread use in other sectors such as textiles and clothing, thanks to its extraordinary properties.
THE WINNING COMBINATION:
The secret of an excellent mattress is the perfect combination of two factors: - high quality support - careful packaging. From this philosophy a new line of latex mattresses is born: to cover the truly innovative technology of latex supports with the Portoflex experience Latexco latex, world leader in this sector. Latex has established itself as an ideal support for our body during the phases of rest: for its extraordinary ability to adapt to our conformation, maintaining the correct position of the spine and facilitating the release of muscular tension. For these reasons Latexco sleep supports contain up to 85% natural latex.
The result of an advanced industrial transformation process, Latexco latex foam adds a series of advantages to the natural properties of latex:
- optimal ventilation: thanks to its particular internal structure, composed of microcells that guarantee perfect ventilation;
- resistance to mold and bacteria: a result of the exclusive Latexco processing techniques, certified by the Morton Thiacal Research and Development Institute of Massachusetts;
- high resistance to deformation and aging;
- absence of electrostatic charges;
- silence.
Not only. Latexco creates latex supports with differentiated load-bearing areas, depending on the non-uniform distribution of body loads. Different versions for load-bearing capacity and thickness are also available for each model.
COVERINGS AND PADDINGS:
The new line of Portoflex latex mattresses stands out for the attention always paid to padding and coverings, both in the choice of healthy and ecological materials and in the artisanal care of the workmanship. The classic padding comes with the summer side in white cotton and the winter side in pure white wool: natural materials that allow perspiration and maintain body temperature. The antibacterial treatment also ensures maximum hygiene and resistance to mould. The fiber padding is available for the hypoallergenic version.
As for the coverings, various versions in stretch cotton are offered. The refined shades and elegant workmanship underline the aesthetic quality of the product. A removable version is available which ensures ease of cleaning and practicality, also thanks to the lining which allows quick removal. The Portoflex line of latex mattresses includes the six models of the PX series.

THE LFK SPRING:
Portoflex was the first company to offer a line of orthopedic mattresses on the Italian market with the special LFK spring system with high spring density (220/m2).
Patented by the Swiss company SPÜHL and manufactured by Portoflex, the exceptional system with special cylindrical springs guarantees the following advantages:
more than double the number of springs compared to traditional springs;
high load-bearing capacity over the entire surface of the mattress; extreme ease of adapting to the body line due to its elasticity;
non-deformable especially in the central part of the mattress; maximum comfort and hygiene;
favorable quality-price ratio of mattresses with the LFK system.
The individual springs of the LFK system are connected to each other with articulated joints and can therefore be optimally adapted to any weight or position assumed by the body on the mattress.
Thanks to the reduced width of the end rings, the compact surface of the spring prevents the insulation and padding from entering between the springs, guaranteeing uniform support on both sides of the mattress and on the perimeter band.
With the LFK system, whatever position you sleep in, your spine is always supported in the correct way.
